Vote 'no' on C.V. incorporation

Monterey Herald, July 16, 2009

I am pleased to see all the letters against Carmel Valley incorporation because I have come to the same conclusion.

There are many of us who like our rural village just as it is. We respect that Carmel Knolls, Carmel Views and others along C.V. Road don't consider themselves connected to the actual Carmel Valley Village. I agree with letter writers who suggest that becoming self-governing will bring new layers of complication and the burden of being self-supporting could lead to even more development than we have now.

Those who are promoting incorporation and city government might want to think about moving to an already incorporated area where they can apply their public service efforts. I urge a NO vote on Carmel Valley incorporation.
