Frank Lunding will give a presentation to the Monterey County Supervisors on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 1:30 PM at the Supervisors’ chambers in Salinas. Lunding is the attorney who filed a lawsuit against the Monterey County Supervisors over outdated fiscal numbers in the feasibility study that favored a possible Carmel Valley municipality. The proponents of Carmel Valley incorporation will also have time to make their case.

Under the agreement reached by the Protect Carmel Valley, Inc. lawsuit, the opponents of CV cityhood were given the opportunity to show how the recession and lower real estate prices will bankrupt a city of Carmel Valley before it can start. One of Lunding’s examples is the recent distress sale of Carmel Valley Ranch for $18 million. The property was last reappraised for $40 million near the peak of the real estate market.
