Questions about C.V. incorporation

Monterey Herald -- Sept. 19, 2009

Regarding incorporation: Will residents and businesses that now have Carmel addresses have to change to a Carmel Valley address? If not, why not.

I was given a handout from an incorporation proponent that showed the proposed city limits. Within those limits it shows Tehama, but Tehama has opted out. Why is Tehama still listed as an approved development if the city would have no influence over it?

That same handout showed Rancho San Carlos as another approved subdivision. Rancho San Carlos is clearly outside the city boundary. Why is it listed if the City would have no influence over it? Why is the name of Santa Lucia Preserve listed as Rancho San Carlos?

I've seen yard signs for both proponents and opponents of the city. Why don't the proponent's signs say anything about the city of Carmel Valley and just say "Vote Yes on G?" Shouldn't those voting know that a yes vote means they are voting for a City?

With Quail Lodge going out of business, how does that affect the tax base of the new city?
