Carmel Valley Needs Good Land Steward

Monterey Herald -- Sept. 22, 2009

Carmel Valley needs good land steward

I dispute Robert Greenwood's letter saying there's no record that those opposed to Carmel Valley incorporation have opposed any development. I worked closely with Robert on the proposed Condon development and Gardiner Ranch plans several years ago. Robert is a stalwart steward of the environment, but his city fiscal analysis is based on flawed and outdated reports.

I would like to ask all involved with the declared anti-development pro-city group: Who put up the original investment for funding this group and the "just for information" survey? The gentleman is Tom Gray, and he is a professional developer with grandiose plans for developing San Carlos Ranch in Carmel Valley.

Our supervisor, Dave Potter, has not been a good steward of our environment, and he most certainly is a (tainted) developer. Perhaps one of the declared Carmel Valley council applicants should run for his seat. Please say No on G.
