Wrong to turn C.V. into illogical city

Monterey Herald -- Oct. 27, 2009

The dubious notion that a city stretching for miles is good for Carmel Valley is wishful thinking and of utmost craziness. A planner of small communities will support incorporating sustainable villages and annexation of communities under the influence of nearby cities. However, no good planner, resident, investor or politician would ever entertain the notion that the long stretch of Carmel Valley could ever be a town.

The handful of promoters of a town need to read a book about good planning of a city and not vent their anger with county government. The voters need to recognize that their best interest is in keeping their Carmel Valley the way it is. It is absolutely wrong to turn beautiful Carmel Valley into an illogical city and destroy its value. The Carmel Valley silent majority like their Carmel Valley the way it is and that is the way it should remain. Their rights are protected by the state and federal constitutions and they must dig in their heels, stand tall and protect their Carmel Valley.
