Voters say no to municipality

Concerning Glenn Robinson's letter Tuesday, Save Carmel Valley recently urged its members to send letters to the five supervisors asking them to oppose establishment of a Carmel Valley municipal advisory council.

Our e-mail message concerned only opposition to a council that we see as a shadow government created by the losing pro-incorporation side. Voters have decided that they do not want a municipality.

If one of our members, or a leader of one of the other anti-incorporation organizations, favors more, less or no legal lots of records within the context of the general plan, that is his or her prerogative. Save Carmel Valley has centered its efforts on preventing another expensive layer of government that we believe will destroy the rural character of our valley.

Interestingly, these letters were sent directly to the supervisors, not to Glenn Robinson. I wonder how he got hold of them so quickly.
